By working with real food items, and being involved in their own meal and snack preparations, not only will children benefit from exploring different textures, smells, and tastes, and not only will they learn about  nutrition, food groups, and healthy eating habits through hands-on experiences, but they will also develop a sense of ownership and pride in their accomplishments. This will foster a positive relationship with food, and strengthen their sense of belonging and value as they will gain the confidence and know-how to contribute to family meals at home and nurture their social and emotional development. Through these experiences, children develop important life skills such as planning, organizing, and problem-solving that will serve them their whole lives.

Our goal is to provide all families with the discipline and reliability of a center-based program and the warmth and familiarity of a home-based setting. We stay in communication with parents throughout the day using Brightwheel and keep families up to date about their children’s activities and progress.

Our program also emphasizes the importance of practical life skills, such as self-care, grace, and courtesy. Through daily routines and activities, children learn to take care of themselves, their environment, and develop social skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

As a home-based program, we offer a small group setting, allowing for individualized attention and a strong bond between caregivers and children. We are passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

One of the advantages of a home-based Montessori program is having access to a real kitchen and real appliances and tools that are commonly used at most homes but are missing in centers due to liability issues. Here at Golden Beads, we have the best of both worlds, where children can better learn to navigate their own home environments and feel more confident as a result, but also be in a structured setting, much like a center-based program, that provides them with a mixed-age group of peers and enables them to learn from and to teach others.
